Woodbine Furniture Camp Bowie Blvd.Spurred by my own shopping frustration with Fort Worth’s furniture offerings, I found myself yearning for something more.  I wanted dovetails and solid materials, design input and customization, furniture made here in the US as opposed to imported from China, and made with American hardwoods instead of imported rain forest lumber.  The fact is, I was looking for furniture that would remind me of my old woodworking days when I worked along side my grand uncle in a small cabinet shop just off Berry St right here in Fort Worth.  My grandfather, also a master carpenter, would drop by from time to time to lend his expertise and guidance.  These master craftsmen, both of whom I apprenticed under, formed the basis of my woodworking knowledge and were in some way responsible for my search for better built furniture.  I kept looking and eventually found the Amish woodshops that we here at Woodbine do business with today.

In a nutshell, we offer you the ability to customize or personalize your furniture.  You begin the design by selecting wood, finish, and style.  Apply any available options that might be of interest, and then our Amish woodshops build your piece to order.  We have staff in place to help you along by explaining options and choices that will ultimately result in your own piece of customized furniture.

One last thing to mention, if you’re interested in the environment, consider this.  Our furniture is built to be passed down, not end up in a landfill.  Our builders ride their bikes or walk to work (remember the Amish don’t drive), can their own vegetables (from their own gardens), make their clothes, I could go on and on about their green life-style.  The fact is, they were green long before green was cool.  Also, consider the wood, not only is it locally produced, which translates to an extremely low carbon footprint and no rain forest depletion, but there is virtually no waste and it’s a renewable resource.  Small cutoffs are used to make toys, saw dust is used for the horses, and any other scraps are used to heat the shops or homes.  We won Fort Worth Weekly’s Best Enviro-Friendly Business of 2008.

I invite you to come visit our showroom at 4808 Camp Bowie in the Cultural District or check out our web site at www.woodbinefurniture.com.

Thanks for your interest and I hope to see you at Woodbine Furniture Co.
